The Constitution of Oxfam was amended in Winter of 1996, and in April of that year came the first elections under the
new tripartite division of power, created by the President Emeritus, Priya
Sekar, Oxfam's advisor Sam Speers
and the four people who would assume the newly created offices. New elections were held in the spring of 1997,
as set forth in the Constitution, and the same four people were re-elected. With the beginning of the new year, Ted,
our secretary emeritus decided he needed more free time, and as set forth in the constitution, we appointed a new
member to fill out the remander of his term.
